Project I.G.I.: I'm Going In (released in Europe as simply Project I.G.I.) is a tactical first-person
shooter developed by Innerloop Studios and released on December 15, 2000 by Eidos Interactive.
 It is one of the first computer games to feature realistic weaponry and tactical combat situations.
Upon release the game garnered mixed reviews due to a number of shortcomings, such as poorly
 programmed A.I., lack of a mid-game save option, and the lack of multiplayer features. However
 it was praised for its superb sound design and graphics, thanks in part to its use of a proprietary
game engine that was previously used in Innerloop's Joint Strike Fighter.

David Jones is sent off to find Josef Priboi, a Russian arms dealer who is believed to have information
 on a stolen nuclear warhead. As he helps Captain Harrison, apprehend Josef, he discovers that the
 brains of the operation is Josef's uncle Jach, whom Jones then attempts to apprehend instead. He
 discovers his location by planting a virus in Jach's communications center.
While Jach Priboi is taken away in helicopter by Jones, he is shot down by Ekk. Jones then has to
 clear the border and find his equipment. He then hijacks the train carrying Priboi and takes him in for
 interrogation. Learning about the involvement of Ekk, he sets off to catch her and find the nuclear
weapon. Ekk escapes on her first meeting with Jones, but Jones kills her after finding her second
hideout as well as the nuclear warhead.

Hitman: Contracts is a stealth game, developed by IO Interactive. The game is the third game of the Hitman video game series, released April 20, 2004. Hitman Contracts sold over three million copies by the end of 2004

Gameplay centers around the exploits of a hitman, Agent 47 as he is sent to various locations to assassinate targets. An array of weapons can be used, from shotguns to jian. While stealth and subterfuge is encouraged, the game allows the player to take a more violent approach and gunfight their way to their mission goals. Players are rated on their performance in a system that records statistics such as shots fired, NPCs killed, and the amount of aggression and stealth applied in the mission; regarding the aggression and stealth statistics specifically, players will be rated a wide array of titles that range from "mass murderer," the most aggressive title, and "silent assassin," which in contrast is the highest stealth rating.

The game begins with a cutscene showing a wounded Agent 47 wandering through a dark hotel corridor and arriving at his room. Upon entering, he collapses and begins to have flashbacks regarding previous assassinations he committed, beginning with the aftermath of killing Dr. Ort-Meyer at the end of the original game. The missions are primarily focused on replays of previous missions in the original game, except played in reverse. The graphics, maps and artificial intelligence have been improved and modified, not to mention the presence of rain or snow in every level and peculiar, unnatural events occurring in some levels. In the game, 47 visits several locations, including Romania, Kamchatka, the United Kingdom, Rotterdam, Budapest, Hong Kong, and finally Paris.

While 47 suffers, a doctor sent by the Agency arrives unexpectedly and treats 47, then flees when he discovers GIGN officers surrounding the hotel. At the end of the game, 47 regains consciousness in the hotel room with an expired mission briefing. It is revealed that 47 was hired to kill a US ambassador, Richard Delahunt, and a famous tenor at an opera house in Paris (an event later seen in Hitman: Blood Money), but was also tasked to kill their mutual friend, Inspector Albert Fournier who has sent a team of police to capture 47 after discovering his hideout.

47 discovers the situation he is in and moves on to kill the inspector and escape the area. He then makes his way to the airport, where he boards a plane and escapes the country. His contact, Diana, reaches him on the plane and suggests that his target may have been tipped off.

If a developer makes a decent, multiplayer-focused first-person shooter but no one is there to play it, does it deserve to be bought? Ponder this piece of Zen as we examine Warpath, a new, budget-priced FPS from developer Digital Extremes.

Warpath is, for all intents and purposes, an Unreal Tournament knockoff that looks and feels pretty similar to Digital Extremes' last game, Pariah. Purely taken as a multiplayer shooter, Warpath has its qualities; but those qualities might be difficult to grasp considering that just about nobody is playing this game online, days after its retail release. And as far as its single-player experience goes, it has one, and that's about all you can say for it.

The premise of Warpath is that three warring races are battling it out for supremacy on a distant world. There's the human coalition, a group of futuristic supersoldiers decked out in what looks like a blue version of the Master Chief's suit from a certain other first-person shooter that one might argue Pariah was an awful lot like; the Kovos, a group of mechanical creatures that look like fatter versions of the Cylons from the old Battlestar Galactica series, but with weird Matrix code running down their faces; and the Ohm, who are basically Star Trek's Borg, but without that whole collective consciousness deal. Each race has a couple of unique weapons, but once you play through and unlock all the available guns, effectively there is no difference between factions, save for aesthetics.

Warpath includes deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag, and front line assault modes. The first three are pretty self-explanatory. Front line assault mode places a few capture points around a map, and requires at least one member from each team to stand in those points until a meter fills up and designates it as captured. Once a team has captured all the capture points on a map, they can then gain access to the opposing team's base and blow up its generator to take the round.

The AREA 51 series first began as a light gun-based arcade shooter game, and now Midway has brought the series to the Pc Games as a first person shooter along the lines of HALO and DOOM.

The game revolves around HAZMAT operative Ethan Cole, who has been summoned to Area 51 to discover the source of a deadly virile outbreak. He soon discovers that the staff of the secret alien research base has mutated into deadly, dangerous enemies. Even worse, Ethan himself quickly becomes infected.

While the game is a fairly straight-forward first person shooter involving blasting everything that moves while searching for keys, secret codes, and other clues, it does have some interesting twists. Once Ethan becomes infected with the virus, he gains the ability to mutate into a stronger form complete with two ranged attacks.

The visuals also change, taking on an almost infra-red interface. Once the single-player missions are finished, AREA 51 offers gamers a multiplayer mode that accommodates up to 16 players. Several different options are available, including deathmatch, capture the flag, and infection, in which players can play as mutants and attempt to infect the human players.

There are also unlockable secrets that can be found by scanning objects, , computer workstations, and corpses. While AREA 51 has been absent from the arcade for awhile, first person shooter fans will immediately latch on to its Pc Games version. Fans of THE X-FILES should also check it out to hear star David Duchovny voice Ethan Cole.
